Job Description

JPL account managers are more than project leaders—they are business builders. This role is charged with retaining and growing our clients’ business while expanding JPL’s partnership with those clients. As the trusted day-to-day advisor, the account manager leads  multi-disciplinary teams and orchestrates integrated programs that deliver measurable results. With a balance of strategic insight, operational excellence and relationship building, the account manager ensures that every engagement strengthens client success and drives agency growth.

This is a hybrid position based in Harrisburg, PA, working in the office three days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships that lead to retention, growth and referrals.
  • Manage and deliver projects and programs on time, on budget and on strategy, while ensuring profitability for JPL.
  • Lead the complete project lifecycle, from small initiatives to large-scale, integrated campaigns.
  • Use AI tools to improve efficiency, provide insights and enhance workflow across planning, execution and reporting.
  • Manage all tactical details of projects—scope, issues/risks, schedule, budget, quality, communication and relationships—under the supervision of a lead strategist/manager.
  • Collaborate with clients and teams to develop communications plans, define  deliverables, create timelines, write creative briefs and assign responsibilities, integrating AI-assisted research and analysis where beneficial.
  • Motivate and guide multi-disciplinary teams, including creative, paid media, video production, analytics and external partners, fostering a strategic approach.
  • Set and communicate clear goals and project details, secure resources, resolve conflicts and hold teams accountable.
  • Track project progress, identify risks and proactively address issues to ensure successful, on-time on-budget delivery while keeping leadership informed.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the day-to-day contact, monitoring success against account plans and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Stay immersed in client industries, market trends and competitors, proactively proposing new initiatives and opportunities to drive client success.
  • Effectively communicate JPL’s AI POV and responsible use policy to both clients and internal project team members, ensuring alignment on privacy and transparency standards. Clearly articulate the value AI and data bring to our work, demonstrating their impact on strategy, creativity, efficiency and measurable outcomes.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development in client leadership, strategy, data, AI and emerging technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
  • Marketing or advertising agency enviroment experience is a must.
  • 3+ years of experience managing interactive projects and integrated communications programs through the entire lifecycle, including planning, execution, budgeting, measurement and maintenance.
  • Proven success in leading metrics-driven, digital-first marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to develop creative briefs and professional client-facing communications in collaboration with strategists and managers.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams, foster collaboration and manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Experience balancing a do-whatever-it-takes, client-service mindset, with an equal focus on JPL’s business and financial interests.
  • Track record developing long-term client relationships that drive high satisfaction, repeat business and professional referrals.
  • Ability to monitor client performance metrics and competitive environments, using insights to provide strategic recommendations and propose new initiatives.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI-enabled tools for meeting summaries, project management, reporting and other functions – or an openness to learn.
