We are looking for a Senior Linux Administrator to join our team to support the IFMC Program Office, AMD Mission Command Product Office.

The Senior Linux Administrator will provide support to the Tactical Innovation and Experimentation Lab for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems. The selected candidate will work directly with end customers to meet their needs while ensuring the performance and security of the computer system.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
  • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
  • Adding, removing, or updating user account information, and resetting passwords.
  • Security management.
  • Documenting system configuration.
  • Troubleshooting anomalies.
  • Training Personnel using the system.
  • Supporting Approval to Operate (ATO) requirements.

At a minimum you should have:

  • An active SECRET security clearance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, electronics engineering, or computer engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring, administering, and maintaining Linux computer systems.
  • Current Linux+ or RedHat and Security+ certifications.
  • Experience in configuration and management of physical and/or virtual machine environments.
  • Basic network knowledge.
  • Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing customer environment in a closed lab.
  • Must be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • A focus on the needs of the customer and the team.

You will be highly desirable if you have:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8 and 9 experience.
  • Experience with OpenShift.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation.
  • Experience with DoD security compliance (NIST 800-171, CMMC, DISA STIGs).
  • Experience in scripting languages.
  • Experience in Layer 2/Layer 3 switching/routing, management of Cisco devices, and working knowledge of firewall technologies.
  • Experience supporting RMF security plans, procedures, and compliance.
  • Experience with any of the following: NetApp, VEEAM, Gitla.

Estimated Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000
